Back On The Block

We know it was a little quiet around here the last couple of months - but that's about to seriously change. Besides producing and mixing various projects (including Kamp's "Neue Mode" tape) and keeping heads hooked to his almost daily dose of dope, Whizz Vienna found some spare time to finish his first solo instrumental LP, "Beats Pt. 3". The minimalist title might be confusing at first, but the story is actually rather simple: Starting with this collection of brandnew bangers, Whizz is going to go back into time to showcase the highlights of different sounds and eras he went through those last years. With two programmed prequels already lined up, this sounds like a pretty glorious trilogy to us...

New Unison joint!

In case you were wondering what those three Unison guys have been doing since their "Sound Networks EP" a year ago, there's one answer: A Track called "Nothing Changed" on their pretty new MyCrack page. And as you're getting sucked deeper and depper into the abyss of interaddictive social networks please stop and take a look around to watch Whizz busting out instant bangers almost on the daily and Trishes strugglin' to keep up with the incredible update frequency.

PS: A Mister T expansion of Trishes & Aladin Sani's "Take My Hands" can now be heard on the label page there...

Beattown goes digital

Good news for all you people playing the soundtrack to their lives on an MP3 player. It's been a while in the making, but you can now buy the latest Beattown songs and releases on ITunes Music Store and a growing list of other digital download services. Here are the direct links to our last three releases on ITunes:

Unison - Sound Networks Trishes & Whizz Vienna - Fly Beattown! Trishes & Aladin Sani - Take My Hands/Turn It Up

If your preferred MP3 store doesn't carry our music or if you'd like to make suggestions for older releases that should be MP3d, please let us know!

Brandnew Beattown Treats

The interactive epidemic they call MyCrack has hit hard in our neighbourhood. While our labelpage has been up for a while, both Whizz and Trishes have recently put a couple of brandnew beats on there. So to check out what future Beattown records might (or might not) sound like please go there, listen and don't hesitate to feed back!

Priorities

We should be happy. Austrian singer Zeebee will release her second album "Priorities" on February 17th, featuring two tracks produced by Trishes. One is called "My Sunny Friend", the other a new version of "Fever" over a revamped beat that fans of the 'town might remember from way way back.

We should be happy. Manchester-based record mecca Fat City now carries the Trishes & Aladin Sani record and the review there ends with the punchline "Trishes is a disco man at heart" - well observed.

We should be happy, but we're not. Today the world lost a genius who shaped the future of music like few before him. Rest In Peace, J Dilla!
